Summary

Scarecrows on Main is a rhyming book inspired by the author's very own hometown of Mountain City, Tennessee. The annual Scarecrows on Main festival involves decorating Main Street's lamp posts with creative scarecrows decorated as monsters, spooky scenes, and the like.

On Halloween night, Main Street comes to life with the wave of a magic wand, bringing all manner of creepy creatures to life. Ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, and monsters inhabit the empty streets this night and come to linger with the living as children trick-or-treat. The children will be receiving more than just delicious candy this magical night with plenty of scares to go around!

About the Author

Linda Icenhour has worked as a librarian for going on 30 years in Mountain City, Tennessee. She works alongside her daughter as a writer/illustrator team to create new reading experiences for children. Her hometown and loved ones inspire many of the stories both published and unpublished. Her dreams are to reach as many children as possible so she can share the joy of reading with many young minds and to kindle a passion for reading for many more generations to come.
